AC-DC Electronics

A fundamental electronics course which covers: resistors, parallel circuits, voltage and current dividers, electromagnetic induction, alternating current and voltage, resonance and filters.

Programmable Logic Controls
Fall Sem. Sept. 8, 2010
Monday and Wednesday 6:00-9:00 p.m. 75 hours.

Covers basic programming utilizing Allen Bradley controls, that will allow an individual to be capable of troubleshooting and modifying existing programs. Hands on wiring for I/O (input/output) control along with a variety of sensors. Pre-requisite Basic Electrcity.

Introduction to Basic Robotic Programming
Spring Sem. Jan. 10, 2011 Monday and Wednesday 6:00-9:00 p.m. 75 hours.

This introductory class covers basic program writing. The student will receive instruction on pick and place positioning and programming order of operations for most basic programming language. Pre-requisite: PLC or previous experience supported by a pre-test.

Basic Electricity

Covers Ohm’s Laws and pertinent electrical equations, services, blueprint reading, use of multimeters and aspects of residential wiring.

Motor Controls
Fall Sem., Sept. 8, 2010
Spring Sem. Jan. 19, 2011
Monday and Wednesday 6:30-9:30 p.m. 30 meetings 90 hours.

Both three-phase and single-phase motor concepts are presented. Operation of control schematics and diagrams is explained to aid the student in understanding how a control system operates and how to troubleshoot a system. Prerequisite: Basic Electricity or similar experience.
