84 hours classroom at Hillyard Technical Center and 100 hours of on-the-job training in a long-term care facility (approved by the Division of aging) prior to final exam to complete certification.
Classes will be offered usually beginning the first Monday of every month for 3 weeks. Contact the school for more specific information.

Certified Medication Technician, CMT

This course prepares the students to take the certification exam required to distribute medication in a long term care facility. Students must be a current CNA and be working in a facility that will provide a letter of recommendation and allow the student to complete the clinical requirements and final exam in that facility. Students must score appropriate level on the TABE test as required by the Missouri Division of Health and Senior Services

Emergency Medical Technician

Training designed to enable a person to recognize a life-threatening illness or injury and utilize skills and equipment to correct and combat life-threatening emergencies. Applicants must be 18 years of age and in good physical condition. Copy of high school transcript or GED and criminal background checks are required by all applicants. 190 hours of classroom instruction including hospital clinical training, ambulance service experience and extrication study. Successful completion of this course will qualify the student to take the state and National Registry EMT examination for certification as an EMT-B. Class size is limited. EMT Refresher Training can be completed by attending selected sessions. Applications are available anytime.
