Medical Transcription/Billing & Coding
The Medical Transcription program is a planned sequence of instruction in the areas of Anatomy and Physiology, Human Disease and Surgical Procedures, Laboratory Procedures, Medical Science, Medical Terminology, Medical Transcription Practice, Pharmacology, Professionalism and Medicolegal Issues, Health Care Delivery Systems and Introduction to Health Information. This comprehensive program provides its graduates with the skills required to be employable in all facets of medical transcription

The students participate in internships scheduled in a variety of locations in and around the St. Joseph area in Doctor's offices, hospitals, and clinics.

The course is nine months in length, approximately 1080 clock hours, including holidays and vacation time. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. at the Hillyard Technical Center.
