Precision Machining
All industrial companies that manufacture parts or use industrial machinery in their daily operations need skilled machinist. The Precision Machining course in a program organized to teach entry-level job skills to students desiring a career in the machine tool industry.

In the shop, students receive hands-on experience to use conventional machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses and grinders. They will also learn to use sophisticated equipment such as the Computer Numerical Control machines; Lathes, mill, wire machines.

As students progress through the course, they will spend increasing amounts of time in the precision machining shop. The "hands-on" experience will prepare students for the work environment in the precision machining area.

The course is nine months in length, approximately 1080 clock hours, including holidays and vacation time. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. at the Hillyard Technical Center.
