Radiologic Technology
The Radiologic Technology Program (X-Ray Technology) is a 23 month program. The student will participate in classroom education and clinical experience. The classroom training includes human anatomy and physiology, radiation physics, film processing and chemistry, as well as radiographic equipment and quality control. The student will learn to position patients and perform radiographic procedure. Medical imaging and archival training is included. Clinical training will be provided at hospitals and clinics through out Northwest Missouri. Under the supervision of a qualified clinical instructor the student will gain competency by observing and performing radiographic procedures.
After successfully completing the examination the student will be able to use the professional designation of R.T. (R).

Prerequisites:
  • Introduction to Radiology (available at HTC)
  • Computer application class: 3 credit hour college level
  • Human Anatomy: college level
  • Math: 3 credit hour college level
First year students meet at the Hillyard Technical Center classrooms Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tuesday and Thursday they will be at the clinical education sites. Second year students are at their clinical sites Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Tuesday and Thursdays the meet in the classroom. Times may vary when assigned to clinical areas. Clinical days are usually 8 hours.
