General Class Information
- Classes are held at Hillyard Technical Center unless otherwise noted.
- Schedule changes: Formation of classes depends on sufficient enrollment. Adult Education reserves the right to cancel, combine or divide classes, change the time, date or place they meet and to make other revisions as necessary. The information in this publication is based on conditions at printing and is subject to change.
- Enrollment: Courses are normally open for anyone 17 years of age and older, provided they are not attending high school.
- Books and Supplies: costs of any texts, materials, or supplies are not included in the registration fee unless otherwise indicated. Books are available the first night of class.
- Cancellations due to weather: Whenever classes in the public schools in the School District of St. Joseph are cancelled due to weather, Adult Education classes are also cancelled. All cancellations are announced on local radio and television stations. All cancelled classes will be made up at a later time.
- Eating or drinking: Eating or drinking is not permitted in any classroom or shop area - a break room is available.
- Smoking: Smoking or other tobacco products are not permitted on school property.
- Liability: Every effort will be made to prevent accidents. The School incorporates the following statement as part of the understanding between itself and the students: " Hillyard's assumes no liability, expressed or implied, for the results of sickness or accidents involving personal injury to any student whether in connection with the school's instructional program wherever conducted or incidental to other activities on the school's property or elsewhere."
- Refund Policy: Refunds will be made only under the following conditions:
1. If a class is filled to maximum enrollment before your registration is received.
2. If a class is cancelled due to lack of enrollment.
3. If a refund is requested before the first class meets.
No refunds will be given after the first class meets, students assume the risk of changes in personal affairs or health.
Refunds require 4 - 6 weeks to process.
Enrollment by mail will not be confirmed. Plan to attend the first meeting of the class unless otherwise notified.
